TGI Friday’s

July 24, 2008

I’m always a happy customer after dining in Friday’s. They never fail to satisfy my palate. Just last Sunday, I dined at Friday’s Bonifacio High Street in The Fort, Taguig City and just like any other visit, I was stuffed. My childhood friends and I had early dinner and wreck our diets with these…

Shanghai Chicken Salad

Chilled-fire grilled chicken breast served over crisp Romaine lettuce, tossed with fresh low-fat Cilantro-Lime dressing, Mandarin oranges and diced tomatoes. Price Php 325.89

I have to say that I almost ate the whole serving. I fell in love with it instantly. The sweet tangy taste of the salad just captured my heart. I will definitely order this again.

Chicken Fingers

Hand-battered chicken tenders, golden fried and served with Friday’s fries. Your choice of barbecue sauce or Honey Mustard dressing. Price Php 250

When I bite into the chicken strips, it really melts in your mouth. The chicken is so tenderly sweet I was amazed. Plus their Honey Mustard is really sweet and sour, a great contrast to the saltiness of the chicken and the fries.

Filipino Pork Liempo

Three pieces pork belly marinated in garlic and sweet soy sauce, grilled and served with Java rice, native ensalada with Friday’s own version of vinegar and garlic sauce. Price Php 352.68

I never get to taste the Java rice since I’m on a diet but the liempo tasted sweet and tender. I just love the meat being so tender. Their sauce is just perfect for the liempo.

Chicken Finger BLT

Crispy, hand battered chicken tenders covered with melted Monterey Jack cheese, served on a grilled buttery Ciabatta bread with crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Served with crispy fries. Price Php 263.39

My friend love this with Honey Mustard sauce. She said it’s creamier with it. I never get to try this sandwich though. I was too full to even taste a little of this. My three friends told me it’s really delicious and I took their words for it.

Yens’ QOTW 24

July 16, 2008

Join us here:

1. How was your day yesterday?
So-so. Very rainy, I may add.

2. Who do you dislike most? People who are so dull to talk to, people who don’t recognize your talent, or people who are better looking than you?
People who are looking better than me? LOL. :P I really don’t dislike any of these people, honestly!

3. When you we’re still single or if you’re single, do you tend to date people younger or older than you?
FYI. My husband is younger than me.

4. Do you have any fears, phobias, or concerns about doctors?
I’m not really scared of doctors but I recently observed that after my high risk pregnancy my palms became sweaty when I had to deal with the needles.

5. What five things that you have done in life that you are most proud of?
Marrying Dee. Staying with my parents after getting married. Being a mom. Keeping my few but trusted friends. Being the daughter of my parents.

6. Are you an optimist, pessimist, or realist? Explain.
All of the above. Depends of the situation but I think I’m leaning to being a optimist more than anything.

7. Which is worse, seeing someone chewing their fingernails or picking their nose?
I’m not so sensitive about this but if I really have to choose? I’d say picking their nose.

8. Would you rather kiss a stranger or someone you hate?
I’d rather kiss a stranger.

9. Would you rather be lost at sea or in a desert? Why?
At sea of course. I love the beach. :P

10.Would you rather speak with God for one minute or add one year to your life?
Now that I have a son? I always wish for long life for the whole family. I pray everyday and I know though God is not answering, He is definitely listening!

Have fun! :)

Buzz Away

July 14, 2008

I better blog about this because many mommies have been asking me about it.

It’s from Healthy Options which has branches at SM Megamall, Shangri-La Plaza, Festival Mall, Greenbelt Mall, Powerplant, Rustan’s Makati, SM Manila, SM North, Trinoma, Mall of Asia and Bonifacio High Street.

Review: For 120 ml it is very cheap for around 460 Pesos, sorry I can’t remember the exact price but it is definitely almost 500. I only put 1-2 spritz on each leg and each arm, it can last for 4-8 hours but in our case, I put it 4 times a day, once in the morning, another in the afternoon then before he goes to sleep and I apply it again at midnight. The only down side is its smell but maybe it’s the reason why it is so effective and for 2 weeks our son is mosquito and ant bites free! we are so happy. One of the active ingredients is Citronella and it is mostly made of different natural oils which is definitely nice to a baby’s skin. You can find it under Child Care at Healthy Options.

Evenflo and Pigeon

July 09, 2008

Products marketed for infants and children are not always completely safe for their use. Many contain toxic chemicals that may have detrimental health impacts for children exposed during critical stages of development. In this report, we analyze the extent to which five popular brands of baby bottles leach bisphenol A, a developmental, neural, and reproductive toxicant, into liquids coming into contact with them. We found that all five brands leach bisphenol A at dangerous levels found to cause harm in numerous laboratory animal studies.

More info here and here for interested moms. So as a very concerned mommy, I’ve decided to just dispose all of my son’s plastic feeding bottles after scouting for glass bottles that had been a constant shopping adventure for me and my SIL since I can remember. We found Chicco glass that costs around 500 or a little less and the Pigeon glass that is a little cheaper than Chicco but is always out of stock. We never bought those.

Last Saturday our search was over. I never thought that we will find the cheapest glass feeding bottles available and where? In Mall of Asia, SM Department Store Baby Section. Evenflo 8 oz. glass feeding bottles that cost roughly around P180. We were surprised and asked the saleslady about the product and said that Evenflo just got back in the market with improved and better products for the consumers. SIL and I were so overwhelmed that we both bought a dozen of 8 oz. bottles and 2 bottles of 4 oz. I even grabbed this Liquid Cleanser that is safe for washing the feeding bottles, nipples and veggies. Great finds indeed!

The wonder glass bottles that my son is using as of last Saturday.

Pigeon Liquid Cleanser Dispenser that is refillable. Roughly around P5oo. 700ml and you only dilute 1-2 drops in water.

Here’s my take from this…

Cute kit and just click the image for the store link.

Enjoy the rest of the week! :)

Biggest Tootie Ever

June 11, 2008

I am deeply surprised when I received an email the other day. I had to ask my husband to read it for me again because I’m not quite sure if I read every line right but I guess, I’m just lucky. I had to keep it a few days more, the announcement should come here first of course but I had to tell a close online friend of the news, I just couldn’t swallow the great news that night alone after a tiring but happy day with my family, the last hurrah of the night just made that Monday very complete.

I’m now officially a storyteller. And I’m very happy to know that another Pinay scrapper is on the list. Congrats Diane. WTG Bebots! Now I’m a Store CT to one of the coolest digi shops online. Couldn’t be happier. Yehey! :D

My Girls

May 29, 2008

BIG Fan of them, that’s me. I started to be a regular during it’s last few seasons though and I never missed an episode ever since then. Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha just ROCK and I’m glad they made this movie. I saw this over at Yen’s blog and I can’t help but blog about it as well because like Yen, I am SO waiting for this…

Razon’s Halo-Halo

May 26, 2008

Everybody loves something cold especially during summer but here in Razon’s Halo-Halo is all year round. You get your money’s worth with it. Razon’s specialty is their halo-halo but I also recommend you try their Pansit Luglug and their Sizzling Bulalo (not included in the photo). The branches I go to are in Shopwise, Araneta Center and McKinley Hill, Taguig City. They also have a branch in Market Market amongst other branches I’ve never been to.

I’m Back

May 07, 2008

… and strutting it at Shawna Clingerman’s Creative Team. I’m mighty proud to be back with my very first CT. She is totally nice, just the same cool Shawna that I knew of at 2006. She gave me a chance and I want to make up for all the freebies she gave me and didn’t use just because I had high risk pregnancy. Yes, I resigned because I was too short of a member, could get kits for free but couldn’t make a single nice LO because of the pregnancy. She didn’t asked me to, she didn’t give me any pressure, I was too guilty. I did emailed her this year, I think thrice, offering my creativity to her but she didn’t reply. I was losing hope, but Jacq informed me that Shawna has a call and she said that I need to try one last time and I did. I’m glad I applied. I was happy to see her announcement over at SSD Forum. Lookie…

Last DY CT Stint

April 30, 2008

Yes, I need to spread my wings and explore more. I need to grow as a digital scrapper, though bidding goodbye to one of the nicest designers I know is hard, I know deep in my heart I had to leave. A pinay digi scrapper like me opened my eyes and it wasn’t really that hard to decide for myself, frankly speaking. This will be my last creative team layout for Danielle Young.

Taka a peek of her latest creation, Sweet Tropic, inspired from her recent honeymoon.

Thanks Danielle for the opportunity of being your guest and then giving me a shot as a regular member. It was so cool to work with you! Good luck! :)

The Husband and Wife Tag

April 30, 2008

How long did you date?
We started dating during our college days and then broke up and lost communication for 3 years. Then we dated again of July 2001, yung Bingo-han sa Megamall, we always go there on dates, ewan ko ba ang baduy ata. I thought then that it was the safest place to be with him kasi maraming oldies dun! Baka kasi kung anu magawa ko sa kanya! LOL. Then we got back on November 8, 2001.

How old is he?
He’s turning 30 and I just turned 31. Okay fine! Alam ko pedophile ito! :)

Who eats more?
He absolutely does but I can definitely keep up with his appetite, actually madalas talo ko pa sya sa katakawan!

Who said “I love you” first?
Of course, he did? With the emphasis on the question mark. :P

Who is taller?
He is. Only a few inches though.

Who sings better?
I am or should I say, was a great dancer, wala na kasi akong practice and he wants to believe that he sounded like Martin Nievera when he sings, this can be true, I don’t care, I hate Martin Nievera kasi. But he doesn’t sound like him and he doesn’t know I think so.

Who is smarter?
I always think that he is smarter. But he lacks guts, less EQ, you might call that and I have more of that.

Whose temper is worse?
I have the worst temper in the world and I’m not shy to admit it.

Who does the laundry?
We have our help now but when we didn’t, we actually do it together.

Who does the dishes?
Our help too but during those days, he actually does. I cook.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
My Husband, he actually makes the milk when Dustin cries at night. I usually sleep in the middle or the left side near the wall to soothe Dustin when he cries at night.

Who pays the bills?
I do when he can’t drive me to the bank but we usually do this together. He accompanies me all the time.

Who cooks dinner?
I do but we have a help now who takes care of it.

Who drives when you are together?
He does but I would love to take the wheel any time, I hate his driving.

Who is more stubborn?
Maybe both. We are very different individuals and we are stubborn in our own different way.

Who kissed who first?
Both. It is actually a mutual smack on the lips. Sabay kami eh.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?
He does. Lagi kasi siya topic ng tampo ko. I actually don’t give in until he sees my point. I just don’t get mad if it’s not important.

Whose parents do you see the most?
My parents. We live with them. We try to bring our son at his parents’ house during Saturdays so that Dustin will be familiar with his paternal grannies too.

Who proposed?
He did. Sweet and memorable. December 24, 2004.

Who is more sensitive?
I am especially when I’m PMSing.

Who has more friends?
He was a social butterfly during college. I dislike some of his friends and it was nice he realized that some of them are really BI. Now, he treasures a few just like me, but they are tested through time already. I always tell him that a few trusted friends is much better than a gazillion so-called friends, and he realized that I’m right.

Who has more siblings?
He does. He has 3 while I have 2.

Who wears the pants in the family?
Both. We don’t usually look at that. If we have something BIG to decide for, we talk about it and usually we agree on the decision.

TFL! :)

April 21, 2008

Everybody who is always online has their little corner. I want to share mine and hopefully you will share yours as well. Sorry if the corner is a bit messy, as it is almost everyday. It’s the busiest spot in our room, come to think of it. LOL. :P

Friday Feast 187

April 18, 2008

It’s time again…

Appetizer

Name a color you find soothing. Powder Blue is very soothing to me.

Soup

Using 20 or less words, describe your first driving experience. Exciting and yet very scary. I had to drive the C5 Hi-way alone, for the first time.

Salad

What material is your favorite item of clothing made out of? Anything cotton-ny.

Main Course

Who is a great singer or musician who, if they were to come to your town for a concert, you would spend the night outside waiting for tickets to see? I would love to see Rain (a Korean singer) or Justin Timberlake on stage. I heard that my long time crush Steven Seagal now sings the blues and plays the guitar, I haven’t heard him and I don’t know if he is really good but if he comes here, I will watch him no matter what. :P

Dessert

What is the most frequent letter of the alphabet in your whole name (first, middle, maiden, last, etc.)? That would be the letter “N”.
